Our family life has been filled with arts and crafts during this shelter-in-place period. We use simple materials - a palate of water colors, paper plates, magic markers. The most compelling projects have been those related to Jewish holidays. In these photos, my children are creating their own Torah scrolls in celebration of the holiday of Shavu’ot, a holiday that celebrates the giving of the Torah to the people of Israel. This project became an opportunity for Hebrew calligraphy as my kids experimented with brushes and black paint for their Hebrew letter writing.
